Appearance of John the Baptist – beginning of the end of the Old Covenant and the beginning of pronouncement of impending judgment in Israel. Jesus reading the Isaiah scroll in Nazareth – the beginning of the last of the 7 years. The year of the favour of the Lord begins. John to Jesus – he must increase I must decrease, the transition begins. Jesus enters Jerusalem – Jesus announces the day of the Lord’s vengeance, the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem. Jesus asks Jews to flee. Jesus dies – the Old Covenant ends. The New Covenant begins. Jesus’ resurrection – the glory of the Old Covenant begins to fade away. The 3 1/2 years of favour ends. The final 3 1/2 begins. Pentecost – the transition of the home of the Holy Spirit from the temple to the body of believers begins. The stoning of Stephen- the second of the 3 1/2 years ends. Jesus stands up. The time for grace to Jews ends. Gospel handed to Paul. Acts 10. Peter realizes the Gentiles are included in the New Covenant. Acts 15 church announces the Law is over. AD 63 Hebrews written to ask Jews to leave Jerusalem. Announces destruction of Jerusalem in chapters 10, 12 and 13. AD 65 Revelation of Jesus Christ. Anti Christ announced. AD 66 Jewish historians record the departure of angels from the Temple. AD 68 Nero dies. AD 70. Temple and Jerusalem destroyed – Old heaven and earth passes away. The Law and the Old Covenant totally fades away. Jesus appears in the clouds according to Josephus’ Jewish Wars. God comes down and dwells with His people. We are now the Temple.
