Through the Law we get the knowledge of good & evil. It causes us to focus on ourselves and our performance. From self-judgement we determine if we have been good (the fruit being self-righteousness) or evil (the fruit being guilt & condemnation).
It will point a humble heart to the need of a Savior. Here are 42 scriptures that show why Christians are not under the law: 1. The law cannot justify you from all things. (Acts 13:39) 2. The law required physical circumcision of all males. (Acts 15:1,24) 3. The law is an unbearable yoke. (Acts 15:10) 4. Whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law. (Romans 3:19) 5. The law exposes sin, but can’t bring justification. (Romans 3:20) 6. If the law worked faith would be void and the promises of no effect. (Romans 4:14) 7. The law brings wrath. (Romans 4:15) 8.
